Small dent in lower edge of front board. Former child owner's name in her handwriting on flyleaf, and a shorter version opposite half-title. No edition statement of any kind on copyright page, which notes 1963 as the copyright date for both text and pictures. 5 other books "you will also enjoy" are listed on the back board and rear cover of dj. An uncommon copy of the first book in a beloved children's series about a literal-minded maid who generally saves the day with a tasty pie or cake.
