Oversized. Signed by the author to Marcello Truzzi, noted sociologist, amateaur magician, and researcher of alternative science. Truzzi is also acknowledged in the introduction as helping with this work. Slight scuffing to covers back top corner creased. 120+ pages printed on one side only, with many illustrations of Dunninger promotional material. An uncommon self published work, rising from a lecture on Dunninger's success and the role that promotion and promotional material played that Buckner did for the Psychic Entertainers Association (Buckner notes that he has excluded promotional material regarding Dunninger's medium exposes and the Himber controversy). Buckner became interested in Dunniger though his friendship with David Lustig, and a number of entries in the book discuss Lustig as well andf touched on his relationship with Dunninger. Much of the material illustrated in the book came from Lustig.

Duodecimo (12 mo, less than 7.5 inches tall) stapled pamphlet in original dark blue covers with black text. Some wear to edes and corners of covers, with a small worn square on cover where an old price sticker might have been. Staples a bit rusty. Bookplate of Dr. Frank E. Blaisdelll Jr., whose father also had an interest in magic. 66 p. with 2 illustrations. Uncommon. Carrington (1880 - 1958) was a member of both the Society for Psychical Research in England and the American Society for Psychical Research at different times and an ardent investigator of Spiritualism his entire life. He is best known perhaps for his 1924 investigation, with Houdini and others of Mina "Margery" Crandon, who he defended while Houdini and others believed her a fraud. Others he helped research included Eusapia Palladino, Esther Cox, and Eileen Garrett.

Former owner Dr. Taylor has embossed address on firs tand last endpaper, along with a his personal stamp (a hand with a scalpel and his name). he also put in his bookplate of a rabbit coming out of a hat on the first pastedown. 116 p. w/illustrations and additional 2 p. catalog from the publisher. A short work with a biographic sketch of card magician Hull (1883-1943) of Ohio, a number of effects illustrated with photographs, and a short bibliography of his published work.
