His friends included Rosetti, Burne-Jones, William Morris, and Ruskin. His book collection and manuscript collection, put together in just 7 years, began when he retired from art and sold most of the paintings. His collection was sold over a period of 8 years before and after his death, with a good number of the German books being sold in a 1917 auction. Others were sold privately. Very Good. Item #10985
