All have black labels with gilt lettering and ruled in gilt with floral decoration on spine. 5 raised bands. Boards are ruled in gilt along edges, and center covers blocked in gilt with the device of Westminster School with the school motto DAT DEUS INCREMENTUM. Edges gilt, inner dentelles in blind. Bound by H.[ Henry ] Southeran & Co. London. Slight wear to edges ad cornrs, with light scuffing to spine. Lower corners of all volumes bumped. First volume has an 1889 prize inscription to E. H. Marsh, almost certainly Sir Edward Howard Marsh (1872 – 1953), a sponsor of Rupert Brooke and Siegfried Sassoon and Private Secretary to Winston Churchill from 1905 - 1915, and friend until his own death. The headmaster (from 1883 - 1901) was W. (William) Gunion Rutherford, also a noted classical scholar, primarily of Greek. Bergk's work here became the standard survey of Greek Lyric poetry.
