Additional olive-sepia toned plates in each volume, all present. Spines of set slightly faded, with some wear head and heel to a number of volumes.
The double sided handwritten manuscript by Thoreau in v. 1 is a copy of part of an article about Dennis MA. he copied from an 1802 Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society book (vol 8, p. 135) known to have been in his personal library, probably to put in one of his several commonplace books. An attractive and uncommon set, with a fragment of history added. Very good. Item #18360
