The First Panzer Division was organized in 1935. After the campaigns in Poland and France, the division spent the rest of its time in the East, fighting near Leningrad and Moscow. After refitting and garrison duties in Greece, it used as an emergency force at Kiev, Zhitomir and Cherkassy. It conducted a fighting retreat into eastern Poland and Hungary, and participated in the attempted relief of Budapest. The Division ended the war in US hands. This history is a very focused discussion of this regiment, with additional details not in the main Divisional history. Very good. Item #18474
