An Austrain unit incorporated into the Wehrmacht after the Anschluss, the unit fought almost exclusively on the Eastern front, participating only in the French campaign of 1940. It fought well, but was to all effects detroyed in 1944, an reformed as the 45. Volksgrenadier Division, ending the war in Czechoslovakia. It fought at the Brest fortress, Kursk and Warsaw. This unit history was done by the Division pastor, who was with the division for it's entire existence. Very good. Item #19530
