Hogan (1877 - 1944) was an attorney, president of the DC bar association and founder in 1902 of the firm Hogan & Hartson. He appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1935, and whose March 11 issue has a great deal about him. He was a friend of and lawyer for Edward Doheny (successfully defending him against bribing a Cabinet Secretary), whose wife created a superb book collection as well.
