The bottom of the dj cover has a large "half moon" tear with a small piece missing on left near spine. Endpaper slightly darkened, with slight soiling to top of textblock. LaSt page has 2 WWII era newspaper clippings about the Essex-class Lexington's launch, but they have darkened both pages. 280 p. w/illustrations, maps on endpapers. One of the first true classic books of World War II from the American side, detailing the activities of the carrier USS Lexington before and during the battle of the Coral Sea, where she was sunk. Johsnton was on board the carrier and was rescued along with the surviving crew. Very uncommon to see signed. Very Good in Fair dust jacket Hardcover in full cloth (Item ID: 11559)
