A limited edition of 400 numbered copies, this copy without a number, so likely a printer's extra. Slight wear to edges and corners of boards. Boards and spine are faded, spine label still clearly legible. (xii) 114 p. A collection of letters from Lunardi, an early Italian balloonist or "aeronaut", who came to Scotland in 1785. The five flights he describes took place in that year and in 1786. He gave exhibitions across the UK and Europe, eventually dying in obscurity in 1806 at Lisbon.
