New York: The Century Co., 1903. This novel first appeared in French as Le Juif Errant in 1844-45. Three very good hardcovers without dust jackets. All volumes are worn and rubbed along the edges of the panels with some bumping to the heads and heels of the spines with scuffing to boards and some yellowing of pages. Volume 1 has crack in hinge by back free endpapers and on back panel are three reddish marks and small stainmark. All three volumes have illustrations. Volume 1 has 375 pages. Volume 2 has 373 pages. Volume 3 has 372 pages. This a complete English version of Eugene Sue's novel, The Wandering Jew. Eugene Sue (1804-57), whose real name was Marie Joseph Sue, was a French novelist who is best known for "his popular and sensational romances in the manner of Dumas pere." (Item ID: 5311)
