Tokyo: T. Hasegawa, early 1900s. padded softcover. Duodecimo (smaller than standard - approx 7" tall). Some wear to edges and corners, some spotting on covers. Covers are illustrated cloth with padding over cardboard. the illustration reminds me of rays (fish) in water. The second of three volumes in this series. the Blossom songs are Chinese poems by Japanese writers, no later than 906 a.d.. The Sword songs are more modern, and entirely Japanese. Almost every page of the poems are illustrated by woodblock prints, beautifully colored, such as flowers, samurai, inns, sword making, Mount Fuji, furniture, etc. Uncommon. Very good. Item #19625
